Moonstone is a pre-Hardmode ore found in the Moonstone biome. When placed, it emits a beam of light that extends upwards 9 blocks and creates sparkles above it. In order to mine it, the player is required use a pickaxe with 50% mining power or more. When 150 Moonstone blocks are placed close to each other, they will create the Moonstone biome. It is used to craft Moonstone Bars.

When stood on top of moonstone, the player will be inflicted with Dreamwarp for 5 seconds and a closed eye will fade in above the player. This eye has 4 stages. In the first stage the eye fades in while being closed and it lasts for about 8 seconds. In the second, third, and fourth stages, the eye opens more, until it is fully open in the fourth stage. These final three stages last 15, 25, and 25 seconds, respectively.
